Join the Creative Crew and Capture the Festival Through Your Lens

Join the Alternating Currents Creative Crew, a collaborative opportunity for photographers, content creators and festival ambassadors to showcase their work, connect with fellow creatives and help tell the story of the festival. Whether you're capturing professional photos or sharing your experience on social media, you'll play an important role in documenting one of the Quad Cities' most creative weekends.


Application Deadline: Friday, July 10


If selected, you will be notified by Friday, July 17.



Street Team

Help us spread the vibe of Alternating Currents by joining our Street Team, a group of passionate locals and festival fans who help document and promote the experience from the ground. Whether you love snapping photos on your phone, posting Reels or hyping your favorite shows, we want your voice out there with us!


What You’ll Do:

  • Attend at least 2 days of the festival (Aug 13–16)

  • Share your festival experience on social media throughout the weekend


    (Instagram posts or stories, Reels, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)

    • Please Note: To help us amplify your content, participating social accounts should be public

  • Use our official hashtag #alternatingcurrentsqc and tag @alternatingcurrentsqc

  • Snap fun moments, capture cool visuals, and highlight your favorite shows, murals or vendors

  • Help create a welcoming festival atmosphere by engaging with attendees and sharing your enthusiasm for the event

  • Join the private Street Team group chat for real-time updates, tips and check-ins


What You’ll Get:

  • Official Creative Crew Festival Pass

  • Access to artist hospitality meals and beverages (Friday dinner, Saturday lunch & dinner)

  • Opportunity to be featured on our social media or website

  • A behind-the-scenes look at how a major citywide festival runs!

This is perfect for students, content creators, downtown superfans or anyone who wants to be part of the buzz.


Photography Collective

We’re inviting a limited number of photographers to join the Alternating Currents Photography Collective, a creative collaboration designed to showcase your talent while capturing the energy and diversity of the festival.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Capture festival performanches, artists, audiences and experiences during the times you're available

  • To help ensure broad festival coverage, photographers will be assigned at least one event, venue or performance

  • Submit a select number of watermarked, low-res images with us for potential promotional use by Alternating Currents (credit provided)

  • Tag @AlternatingCurrentsQC when sharing festival photos on your social media channels

  • Provide a gallery link following the festival. Additional images may be considered for future licensing opportunities; see Image Usage & Licensing below for details.


What You'll Get:

  • Official AC Creative Crew badge

  • Profile listing on our AC blog

  • Access to artist hospitality meals and beverages (Friday dinner, Saturday lunch & dinner)

  • Social media credit and tags for shared watermarked images used on AC social media platforms

  • Opportunity to license additional images to Alternating Currents for future promotional use

  • In addition to helping document the festival, Creative Crew members become part of a network of artist, creators and storytellers helping shape the Alternating Currents experience.


Image Usage & Licensing: Photographers retain ownership and copyright of all images they create.By participating, you grant Alternating Currents permission to use the submitted watermarked, low-res images for festival promotion on digital platforms, with photographer credit whenever possible.


Alternating Currents may also request to license and purchase select high-resolution images for future marketing, advertising, promotional, editorial, print or digital materials. Any purchased images will be governed by a separate licensing agreement. Photographer credit will be provided whenever practical, though some adertising, print and design applications may not accomodate attribution.


A Creative Opportunity: We understand and respect the value of your work. While this opportunity does not include an upfront photography fee, it offers unique access, portfolio-building opportunities, networking with artists and fellow creatives, and the potential for future image licensing. We are committed to respecting creator ownership, providing attribution whenever possible, and fostering future opportunities for collaboration.
